Trusted Subaru repair in Colorado Springs

Colorado runs on Subarus and so does our Colorado Springs bay schedule. Import Specialty Auto has decades of experience with the boxer-engine playbook — head gaskets on EJ25, oil consumption on FB25, CVT service intervals, AWD differential service, and the timing chain or belt work that's so easy to neglect.

We service Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, Impreza, Legacy, WRX, STI, Ascent, and BRZ with OEM Subaru parts, Subaru Super Coolant, and the correct CVTF (CVTF-II or High Torque CVTF, depending on chassis).

Every repair is backed by a 3-year / 36,000-mile nationwide warranty and we'll keep your Subaru on the trail or commuting up I-25 reliably.

Common Subaru Problems We Diagnose and Repair

These are some of the Subaru-specific problems we see most often at our Colorado Springs shop. We know what to look for, how to diagnose them, and how to repair them properly.

  • EJ25 head gasket failure (external coolant leak)
  • FB25 oil consumption (piston rings)
  • CVT shudder, judder, and software updates (Lineartronic)
  • Rear differential and rear wheel bearing wear
  • Timing belt interval on EJ25 (every 105k)
  • Valve cover and cam carrier seal leaks
  • Front control-arm bushing wear on Outback / Forester
  • Subaru oil-pickup screen restriction on FA20 (WRX/BRZ)

Signature Subaru services

Some of the Subaru-specific work our technicians perform most often, using quality OE parts and the specialized equipment and experience these repairs require.

Subaru maintenance — what owners should know

  • CVT fluid is NOT lifetime — service every 30,000–45,000 miles on Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, Ascent.
  • Timing belt at 105,000 miles on EJ25 — overdue belts wreck the engine.
  • Use Subaru Super Coolant only — universal coolants don't play nice with the cooling stop-leak.
  • FB25 owners: track oil consumption between changes — a quart per 1,200 miles is your warranty trigger.

Why Subaru owners choose ISA

  • Boxer-engine experience most general shops don't have.
  • Genuine Subaru fluids in-house — Super Coolant and matched-spec CVTF.
  • We service lifted and overlanded Subarus weekly — we know the camber, bushing, and AWD math.

Serving Subaru owners in Colorado Springs, Monument, Falcon, Peyton, Black Forest, Briargate, Fountain, and Manitou Springs.

FAQ

Subaru Repair — Frequently Asked Questions

On the EJ25 (most 2000–2011 Outback/Forester/Legacy), yes — it's a known external coolant leak. We replace with updated multi-layer steel gaskets and machine the head surface. Newer FB-series engines do not have this issue.
